Thick-walled EPS boxes (also called tempex box) for frozen, refrigerated and hot applications. The insulated boxes we offer you are made of EPS / tempex, which is also called Styrofoam or tempex. EPS boxes are particularly suitable for conditioned transport of goods.
The thickness of the EPS box determines the insulation value: the thicker the wall of the EPS box is, the better it insulates.
EPS boxes have the property of being well-insulated and lightweight. As EPS absorbs shocks well, your product is protected during transport. Another advantage of EPS boxes is that the material is insensitive to moisture and mould, for example.
An EPS box is reusable and is not harmful to health. EPS boxes are also very inexpensive to purchase.
Applications EPS boxes
Thanks to properties such as the insulating effect, insensitivity to moisture and the lightweight material, the application of EPS / tempex is very broad. Especially when the EPS / tempex is used for transport. Usually, EPS / Styrofoam boxes are used to transport fish, meat, vegetables, fruit, flowers, pharmaceuticals and medical products.
Within the pharmacy sector, EPS boxes are often used to transport medicines, chilled or otherwise. Within the medical sector, EPS boxes are often used to send blood samples. EPS boxes are also a standard product when transporting fish. When fish has to be transported locally, EPS boxes are often used with holes in the bottom to allow melt water to drain away. When fish is transported by plane, tight EPS boxes are again important.
The simple answer is yes. Many of our customers who are in the fish trade use EPS boxes with drip holes so that melt water can easily leave the box and this does not affect the quality of the fish
Our delivery time on EPS is 2-3 working days.
Exactly how long a product stays chilled is difficult to say. This is mainly because a number of variables come into play: Ambient temperature, transport time and the temperature at which the product enters the packaging. In general, you can certainly keep your products chilled/frozen for 48 hours.
As a rule, the bigger the box, the thicker the wall. This is mainly to do with strength. Also, the thicker the wall, the better the insulation. To make sure your product arrives at the desired temperature, we recommend first asking for samples [...]
