Thermal covers, also known as thermocovers, thermal covers or thermal blankets (sometimes written together as thermalcovers or thermalblankets), are flexible insulation covers that protect your goods from extreme temperature fluctuations and moisture. These insulation covers (popularly known as cooling blankets called) form a passive thermal barrier to keep refrigerated or heated cargo safely at temperature during transport and storage. Be it pharma products, fresh AGF products (potatoes, vegetables, fruit), fish and meat on a pallet, or temperature-sensitive chemicals, thermal cargo covers ensure reliable protection of your products. Thermal covers are multilayer insulation blankets or covers that can be placed over pallets, roll containers or air cargo ULDs. They reflect heat and cold, providing a buffer against sudden temperature and moisture changes. They prevent your goods from getting too hot in the hot sun on the airport apron or, on the contrary, from cooling down too much in a cold storage warehouse. With a thermal cover - often called thermal cargo cover in air cargo - the temperature of the cargo remains much more constant. This is indispensable for temperature-sensitive products: think of medicines that need to stay within 2-8°C, or fresh foods that need to remain chilled for food safety. In addition, the cover also provides physical protection against weather conditions such as rain and condensation. In short, thermal covers bridge the vulnerable moments in logistics when active cooling is not always available and guarantee that product quality and safety are maintained.
Air cargo (ULD, LD3, pallets)
Thermal sleeves are indispensable in air cargo. During ramp loading and unloading, temperature differences can be significant. Our ULD thermal blankets and thermal cargo covers protect pallets, LD3 containers and PMC units from heat, cold and moisture. This prevents damage to pharma, food or electronics, even with temperature differences in the cargo hold. For medicines, vaccines and laboratory samples, thermal sleeves guarantee stable temperatures even during customs waits or delays. Each thermal cover is produced in our own facility and can be fully customised to your application: thicker material, UV-resistant outer layer, windows for labels or printed with your logo? We arrange it.
Optimal temperature control: A thermal sleeve keeps products within the desired temperature range, even in extreme heat or cold. It significantly slows temperature rise or fall, reducing the impact of temperature fluctuations (e.g. due to sunlight or night-time cold). Protection against moisture and condensation: Thermocovers not only protect against temperature, but also against moisture. They act as a barrier against rain and high humidity. In addition, they help prevent condensation on your products during rapid transitions from cold to warm environments (or vice versa).
